Greg Guy to be Recognized as Dublin Business Person of the Year

 

Air Force One is pleased to announce that Greg Guy, the company’s CEO, has been selected as the Dublin Chamber of Commerce 2022 Business Person of the Year. This award is presented annually by the Dublin Chamber to an individual who has positively contributed to the betterment of Dublin’s business community. The recipient demonstrates superior leadership and service and helps to make Dublin a better place to live and work.  

Greg Guy has been the Chief Executive Officer of Air Force One since 2009 and has held previous positions including: President, COO, Executive Vice President, Vice President, Account Manager, and Field Technician. As CEO, Greg’s primary goal is to maintain a high level of customer and associate loyalty by being dedicated to the company’s core values of Integrity, Humility, Intelligence and Hunger. He has been recognized multiple times as one of Central Ohio’s most admired executives by Columbus Business First and was selected as the Columbus Chamber Business Person of the Year in 2021. In April of 2020, Greg was elected to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors and is serving a 3-year term. 

During his tenure as President and CEO, AFO has grown 7X in size and profitability, and has expanded its reach across Ohio and into the surrounding states. The company has diversified geographically and grown both organically and through strategic acquisition. Most recently, Greg brought Columbus based Custom Air into the Air Force One Family of Companies. It was this very growth that led Air Force One to relocate their Dublin, Ohio headquarters to a new home in late 2021. The new headquarters building was the former home of The City of Dublin building that served many purposes over the years, including City Hall, Office of Economic Development, and the Building Department. This massive renovation project will serve as an investment back into the Dublin community for years to come.

It’s been a joy to watch the community grow and thrive over the years and to play a small part in its success. Dublin is a wonderful place to live, work, and play!” 

Greg is a progressive leader who is dedicated to the communities where his associates work and live. In 2013, Greg created the Air Force One Community Foundation, which has donated over $200,000 to Ohio non-profits and charities since its inception. In 2021, approximately $27,000 in donations were made. Many of these donations went back into the Central Ohio community to organizations such as Lifecare Alliance, The Humane Societies of Franklin and Union County, and Hope Hollow.  

Also in 2013, Greg created AFO’s “Service To Others” program, which allows associates to donate up to twenty-four work hours (3 days) per calendar year volunteering for a 501c3 charitable organization of their choice. In 2021 Air Force One associates spent 252 total hours volunteering, several of which took place in Central Ohio. Both of these initiatives have strengthened AFO’s culture and are part of the reason the company has been recognized as a Top Workplace by Columbus CEO magazine multiple times, most recently in 2021.  

Last, but certainly not least, as part of Air Force One’s commitment to improving the Dublin community we are hosting a student from Dublin Scioto through a job shadowing program, Dublin City Schools Young Professionals’ Academy. This student will spend 6 weeks shadowing 4 different departments of Air Force One, and will be spending his final day with CEO, Greg Guy. This program provides students in our community opportunities to develop professional skills and learn through real world experience before they graduate high school.
