CEO GREG GUY HONORED WITH 2021 COLUMBUS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SMALL BUSINESS LEADER AWARD

Air Force One CEO Greg Guy was selected as the recipient of the 2021 Columbus Chamber of Commerce Small Business Leader Award. The Small Business Leader Award is well-known and respected in the Columbus community for recognizing qualities like leadership, business excellence and contributions to the community and has honored small business leaders for over thirty years.

“As advocates for the small business community, the Chamber has the honor of acknowledging all of the hard work and contributions of these exceptional business leaders,” said Don DePerro, president and CEO of the Columbus Chamber. “Our finalists have helped to shape the greater Columbus community through their passion, leadership, and innovative approach to business.”

On the morning of April 28th, Greg attended the Columbus Chamber’s 2021 Annual Meeting, ADAPT. During the virtual program, Greg was recognized in front of an audience of his peers and industry friends. Greg had this to share about becoming the 2021 Small Business Leader:

“Being at AFO for these past 25 years, and being the CEO for the past 11, has taught me a few things.

1st – I actually have “old timer” stories to tell our young associates. I have wisdom to impart! At least in my mind I do. That feels weird because I’m now hiring folks that were born in the 2000s. So, I have learned that I can’t stop father time… all I can do is chase him, smile, and enjoy the journey.

2 – Relationships really do matter. I love that I am growing old together with colleagues that I’ve been with for many, many years. I love reflecting on our shared experiences and how we’ve supported each other through good times and bad. I’ve learned to cherish those relationships and relish in my time with my work family.

3 – Curiosity and humility are contagious. I love being around people who are always trying to figure stuff out and make themselves, and the world a little better. I find that curious and humble people have a little twinkle in their eye and a radiant warmth in their heart. They make me want to be a better version of myself.

This is a really special award to receive as a hometown Columbus boy, growing up dreaming about being in business here. To be recognized by my peers and by the community as a business leader is truly special to me. Thank you, Columbus Chamber, I feel really honored and humbled.”
