Air Force One Receives Pillar Award for Second Year in a Row

On Thursday, January 27th, Air Force One will be recognized during the Medical Mutual Pillar Award Ceremony as a recipient of the 2022 Pillar Award for Community Service. This award was developed to honor businesses and individuals dedicated to making Ohio a better place to live. The program is designed to demonstrate the tie between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds and showcase best practices.

From the award ceremony and magazine:

As we all continue to face the challenges of a global pandemic, this year’s honorees demonstrate that businesses go beyond the world of commerce and are truly invested community members. As neighbors helping neighbors, they are creating ties that bind communities together.

Air Force One is a family-owned HVAC and facility solutions provider, serving thousands of commercial, educational, government, health care and industrial facilities throughout the state. Headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, Air Force One employs approximately 340 people across our family of brands.

Air Force One recognizes how incredibly important it is to give associates the opportunity to give back to their communities. Not only does it enrich the community they are serving, but it also cultivates positive traits in the associates, as well.

To promote a service first atmosphere, CEO Greg Guy created the Air Force One Service to Others (STO) philanthropic program to support activities that enhance the communities to which employees belong and address issues that impact quality of life. Associates can spend up to 24 work hours per calendar year volunteering for a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. In 2021, associates logged over 250 hours of volunteer work, with a significant impact on local communities.

Among other things, STO hours have been logged at local churches to help with landscaping and servicing HVAC units. A number of employees also recently participated in a volunteer day at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank Farm Collective, where they helped prepare the facility for the upcoming season.

In addition to the STO program, Guy created the Air Force One Community Foundation in 2013. Since its inception, more than $200,000 has been donated to charitable organizations through the foundation. Some of the company’s larger contributions have been to Pelotonia, Columbus Humane, and the United Schools Network.

This is the second time Air Force One has been honored to receive this designation. Our team takes great pride in offering support to our communities and the nonprofit world. We would like to congratulate our fellow honorees. We are humbled to have received this prestigious distinction.
